'Kali
Gandaki'
Whitewater
Wilderness Expedition
Pokhara
to Pokhara
4
DAYS -River Distance: 90 Kms
Grade
(High Water): III-IV+
|
 |
Using the dee
pest
gorge in the world that is formed between the
Annapurna Massif and Dhaulagiri and named after
the ferocious Goddess Kali, the Kali Gandaki is
one of Nepal's very best rivers for whitewater
rafting.
The
rapids run thick and fast from day one just below
the put-in point at Beni. For most of the four day
expedition there is little relent. Mostly Grade
III rapids-but sometimes really exhilarating Grade
IV and Grade IV+ - the Kali Gandaki carries us
cavorting on through steep-walled gorges, under
cascading waterfalls-to day 4, the last morning-a
grand finale of spectacular, photogenic, big-time
whitewater. And far more than just the river, the
rewards include stunning upstream views of the
Annapurna range, peaceful beach camps on the river
bank, and the remote villages of at least five of
Nepal's main ethnic groups.

'SETI'
The
Perfect Introduction of Himalayan Whitewater, a
Short Wilderness Rafting Experience On Nepal's
Warmest River.
Pokhara
or Bandipur to Chitwan/Ktm 3 Days- River distance:
63kms.
Grade
(high water); II-III
Himalayan
rafting simply means team work and camaraderie in
an idyllic wilderness setting;-in a word, The Seti
River. Its water flow through technical chutes and
channels allowing our skills as paddlers to grow.
The rapids are grade II and III-big waves,
challenging holes and narrow runs, all 'wetting'
your appetite for more!
The
beauty of The Seti extends beyond its warmish
sparkling waters. The Seti Khola is in an isolated
gorge surrounded by luscious jungle. You can spot
abundant wildlife along the river banks, including
monk
eys,
deer and a wide array of birds and butterflies.
Several villages are nestled into the face of the
gorge allowing us to stop for a village walk along
the way.
Mid-day
on the 3rd day is the take-out point down stream
of where The Seti had joined The Trisuli. From
here it's less than an hour to Royal Chitwan

'TRISHULI'
Nepal's
Most Popular Rafting River
Kathmandu
to Pokhara, Chitwan or Back to Kathmandu.
2
DAYS-River Distance: 40kms. Grade (high water):
III-IV
The
gorge of the Trishuli-just 2.5 hrs from
Kathmandu-embodies a blend of celestial vistas,
varied wildlife as well as whitewater fun.
Big bouncy waves, hefty holes, and tricky chutes
all go towards making an exhilarating ride to
remember with a combination of grade II+ and III+
rapids with some IV's in the post-monsoon season
.. Rapids such as Snell's Nose, Teen Devi, Ladies
Delight, Upset and the aptly named Surprise rapid.
On
our overnight rafting schedule the evening's
campsite is nestled on the sandy banks of the
river. We have dinner surrounded by the tranquil
setting of the Trishuli valley. We sit by
candlelight discussing experiences and playing
ludicrous games. The next day the rafting ends
with lunch before boarding our bus to Pokhara
(approx 4 hrs), Royal Chitwan National Park
(approx 2 hrs) or back to Kathmandu (approx 4
hrs).
